Human Rights Education Service Corps (HRESC) is a program of Amnesty International USA that is intended to further human rights education in the United States. The program trains undergraduate and graduate students, as well as working professionals, to become “facilitators” and educate and engage high school students on human rights issues through partnerships with DC public and charter schools, teachers, and after school programs. The program maintains flexibility as some classes run on a quarter, semester, or annual schedule.
HRESC creates an interactive environment for high schools students to enrich their critical thinking skills as they explore human rights issues in their own communities and across the globe. We support and build the skills of emerging student leaders as they educate their peers and their communities about rights issues and develop community awareness at home.
